Post 2010 Election Perspective

4 11 2010

After such a disappointing election where the forces of fear, bigotry, superstition, and misinformation triumphed over the proponents of hope, compassion, science, and enlightenment I needed a little something to restore my sense of perspective.  If you need a little of the same I strongly recommend you watch this.  It’s all kinds of awesome.

Religions tell children they might go to hell and they must believe…while science tells children they came from the stars and presents reasoning they can believe.

Boehener Ad Lays It Out

Boehener isn’t in my congressional district but I can’t help feel embarrassed every time I’m reminded he’s from Ohio. Here’s a little something for you oh orange/tan douchey one.

The War on Brains

11 08 2010

The stoopid, it hurts…

…and republicans are in serious pain.

I’m Not Gay…

…but I do love me some Weiner.

Anthony Weiner unloaded on cowardly Republicans after they heartlessly killed a bill that would provide $7.4 billion in health care aid to rescue and recovery workers who have faced health problems since their work in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

94% of Democrats supported the bill.
93% of Republicans voted against it.

The party of ‘NO’ marches on.

World’s Shortest Books

17 12 2009

I don’t know if the people read their email messages before they forward it on to me, but every so often I get passed on a “funny” email that is especially conservatively partisan/racist.  For example I received one titled “The World’s Shortest Books” that contained these comedic gems:

NEGROS I’VE MET WHILE YACHTING By Tiger Woods

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY COUNTRY By Jane Fonda & Cindy Sheehan.
Illustrated by Michael Moore

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT BILL By Hillary Clinton

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT HILLARY By Bill Clinton

You get the idea.  I was sufficiently annoyed so I replied with my own list of World’s Shortest Books that were egregiously omitted from the original list.

HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENT (IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM)
By George W. Bush

HUNTING AND GUN SAFETY
By Dick Cheney

MILITARY PLANNING (AND HOW NOT TO CHERRY PICK INTELLIGENCE TO FIT YOUR PREDETERMINED NARRATIVE)
By Donald Rumsfeld

PRESERVING THE CONSTITUTION AND PERSONAL PRIVACY RIGHTS
By Alberto Gonzales

PUBLIC BATHROOM ETIQUETTE
By Larry Craig

HURRICANE RECOVERY AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT
By Micheal “Brownie” Brown

APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR AROUND CONGRESSIONAL PAGES (OR HOW NOT TO RAPE YOUNG BOYS)
By Mark Foley

FAMILY VALUES (OR HOW TO AVOID BEING CAUGHT WEARING DIAPERS WITH A D.C. MADAM)
By David Vitter

If you have any others I might have missed please feel free to add them to the list in the comments section.

Not All Wars Are Just, Some Are Just Wars

Dennis makes too much sense to get any air time or attention from the media.  Here’s my small attempt to remedy that.
